Touching moment at Derwent Manor Hotel Northumberland
The couple share a lovely moment, which we’re glad to say was totally natural and unposed.
Derwent Manor Hotel Wedding
This brought about one of our favourite sayings heard at a wedding, as Sarah said to us “Don’t get a shot of me hoyking my dress up” Happy to say, we did and she liked it.
One of our favourite couples, Sarah and Paul, married in the lovely Derwent Manor Hotel, near Consett in Northumberland. They were recommended to us by another client, whose wedding we had also covered, and came down from Newcastle to see us in the studio, before booking us straight away.
Although they are avid Newcastle United fans, we didn’t hold that against them, as supporters of the far superior Middlesbrough FC (We know, but we can dream can’t we ?), we tried to make their day as relaxed, fun and as easy going as possible, which seemed to happen. The guests were a joy to work with and happily the weather was fantastic and we got loads of lovely photos.
Sad to say, we have only covered Derwent Manor Hotel this one time, and would love to get back and do another.

Middleton Lodge Wedding, Croquet Alice in Wonderland theme
One of the many Alice in Wonderland themed events during the day, this time croquet with pink flamingoes. Middleton Lodge had a full croquet lawn outside of the ceremony room set up for the day.
Middleton Lodge Marquis menu
Keeping with the theme, we had an afternoon tea for all to enjoy in Middleton Lodges own marquis.

1st wedding dance YMCA
Rebecca and Matt fooled their guests by beginning a slow dance to a romantic number before all the dancers ran in and began a rendition of the classic YMCA.
A fabulous themed wedding in the heart of North Yorkshire. Middleton Lodge is a stunning venue, nestled in private grounds not far from Scotch Corner. Rebecca and Matt had come up from London to see us and happily they booked us. and we were ably assisted on the day by Greg of Beaurelique Photography in Manchester.
They arrived at Middleton Lodge en masse, with their family and friends from all around the country, to celebrate in style with an Alice in Wonderland themed day. From croquet and treasure hunts, to afternoon tea and characters, everyone had a fantastic time. The day was made even better for some, as the brides family were Everton football fans (I know another football comment) but it was FA Cup final day and they had missed out on the chance to go to Wembley and see Everton play Chelsea in the final, and we even managed to watch some of the second half with the brides dad. Definitely our favourite wedding venue, and James, the owner, does a brilliant job of running weddings.

Hallgarth Hotel is not just a great wedding venue, but also a nice golf course too. Stay over for a round perhaps grooms ?
Hallgarth Hotel Wedding, Danielle and Richie
The beauty of Hallgarth Hotel is that it has many lovely areas for wedding photography, like this little meadow running alongside the golf course.
Having known Richie, and his family, since he was around 12 years old, it was an honour to be asked to be their wedding photographer. We’re often asked if its a blessing or a curse to photograph the weddings of people we know, and in the majority of cases its a blessing, as we are able to be more relaxed and have a little more fun with the guests, as we know what we can get away with saying to them.
Having shot at Hallgarth Hotel in Darlington many times, it was great to have time with Richie and Danielle and take them to some of the lesser used areas for pictures. As part of their wedding package, they purchased one of our wedding books and were delighted with the images and design
